60 is the new 50

My Dad turned 60 this year.  "Still crazy after all these years."  And good looking too.  Just ask him and he'll tell ya!

This is what he had to say on his 60th birthday.  "My Dad always said that if he'd known he was going to live so long, he'd taken better care of his body.  So my Dad did teach me one very important lesson. I took it to heart."

In the same year, I turned 40, Angel Pool turned 50, My Dad turned 60 and Pepaw turned 70.

Birthday Update

When I woke up this morning, Libby had two birthday notes for me. One said "I love you there is nothing I would do exep love and care for you. Madi, Carlie and Frank love and care for you to. I am luckey to have you. We thank you. We don't care if you get older. The importet thang is that your in are hart."

Madi showed up right behind her and she had an ancient romance novel in her hand. She said she got it at a garage sale and she's been saving it all this time for me. Then she disappeared and came back with another one. LOL. I have no idea where they came from. I asked Granny about it and she didn't know where they came from either. They had garage sale stickers on them, but were not anything Mom or I would have bought.

Carlie made me a book, and it opens from the left instead of the right....just like her. Piano lessons were cancelled tonight, so Bob and the kids took me to China Star and the kids went to Walmart and picked me out jammies. And as predicted, I got my sales sack of shirts from my hubby. They were nice shirts though.

My "Baby" is now 6. How Did That Happen??

Her birthday was on the 14th. I know it sounds so cliche, but the time is flying by so fast. She's a little girl, not a baby any more. So far she's had two birthday parties and one more to go. She had one with Granny and Pawpaw before they left for China. And she had a second one on her actual birthday with Memaw and Pepaw. When school starts back up well have another one for her friends.

She's such a character and has so much personality. Her kindergarten teacher was telling me at conferences about Carlie not getting her way and the slouch that she does. She rolles her shoulders forwards, ducks her head and slinks off. The teacher said she has a hard time not laughing at her every time she does it.

She reads on a solid third grade level. The teach said she is social at school and likes to talk and help the other kids. She probably loses a star a couple of times a week for talking, and the teacher said she's super competitive (surprise, surprise...wonder where she gets that from!!)

Happy Birthday, Memaw!!!

Memaw is 49....er 59.....er 69 years young today! She had so much fun playing the kids' DSes that we got her one for her birthday. Two peas in a pod!!!
