Hateful Butterflies

You can tell that I have already parented a plethora of kids, because the school Spring and Christmas concerts aren't fun any more!!! We have grades K thru 4 together. You can look out across the crowd and see the bring shining faces of parents who have kindergartners in the program for the first time. The rest of the parents are tired, sleepy, playing on cell phones or fighting squirmy kids.

But anyway...it's not too fun for me any more. This year the girls had to dress up as insects. Granny bailed me out by bringing materials to make butterfly wings. She and the girls carefully cut out wings and decorated them with pretties. We even made some extras that they shared with kids who didn't have any.

So the night of the concert we get ready to go, and Carlie is mad about something and she is pouting horribly. Then Madi can't find her shoes. We are all waiting in the car and she's bawling on the steps because she can't find her shoes.

I had wanted to take their picture together so that Granny could see what beautiful butterflies she'd made. But what I got was one pouting and one bawling. I told them "You guys are the most hateful butterflies I've ever seen!!!" Carlie just looks at me and says with this incredulous look on her face "Did you just call me a hateful butterfly????" Ummm...yep....yep, I did.

Every Farm has to have ANIMALS.

These are FAINTING pygmy goats. They faint if you scare or startle them. The kids asked if they could try and make them faint when we first got them and I told them No. Well we kind of forgot about it. Then this weekend, we got the lawn mower out for the first time. And when Frank drove it by their pen they took off running and then fell over on their sides with their legs in the air. I thought Frank was going to fall off the lawn mower laughing.

This is Bill and Gruff. The bunnies are Brownie and Fluffybutt. Oh, and Momma Kitty DEFINITELY has a Baby Bump!!!

Who's On First? aka Welcome to MY World.

Granny picked the three girls up and took them shopping over Spring Break. I had $40 in Kohl's Cash, so she took them there to buy shoes. Granny had shoes picked out and wanted them to try them on. The little girls threw a fit and said they both had to go to the bathroom RIGHT THEN. And they couldn't wait. Of course the bathroom is on the other side of the store.

So off they go, and Granny and Libby wait....and wait....and wait. Finally Madi comes back alone. Granny said "Where is your sister?!?!?" Madi said "Oh, she was in there playing in the water and messing around. And she wouldn't come so I finally just left without her."

So Granny sent Libby to go get Carlie. As soon as Libby gets out of sight, Carlie comes around the corner. Granny asked Carlie "Where is your coat?" She said "Oh, I guess I must have left it on the floor in the bathroom (nasty thought) or maybe on the bend." So Granny sent her back to go get it.

About the time that Carlie disappears down the aisle. Here comes Libby from the other direction with Carlie's coat. She said "Granny.....I looked all over for her. I couldn't find her anywhere. But here's her coat!!!"

So they wait....and wait....and wait for Carlie. She finally comes back and says she looked everywhere, but her coat was gone....someone must have stolen it.

And all this time the shoes have STILL not been tried on.....welcome to my world!!!
